Jon Dean

Managing Director

Jon started his career on a two-year Management and Leadership Development Programme with Inchcape, a retail motor-franchise group, after which he was promoted to Sales Manager within the Land Rover franchise at the age of 22.

He subsequently moved into an Area Manager role in the motor-vehicle finance industry with Chartered Trust (now Black Horse Finance) where he managed dealer group and manufacturer relationships and completed his Finance and Leasing Association (FLA) examinations in commercial and financial practice.

His first business venture came when he set up a specialist technology leasing company. This established several high-level agreements with technology vendors who offered the company’s services to commercial clients either directly or through resellers, to help them to procure their solutions.

After a successful trade sale of that business, he spent a short while delivering consultancy and training by individual request before realising there was a significant gap in the market for high quality, flexible and usable leadership and management training.

He established Impellus in 2008 with a set of principles around every training course and qualification; they should be enjoyable, understandable, and deliver real and immediate organisational results. These principles run through every programme the company delivers to this day.

Customer testimonial

The structure of the course was really good and the trainers knowledge was excellent. I enjoyed the day doing different workbook activities - particularly learning about my thinking style and how important it is to not only consider the styles of other colleagues but to also practice them all myself.

E.C , Interpet

David James is a great and engaging presenter and course leader. The content is a good mix of theory and practical, group and breakout sessions.

L.S , Publitek Ltd

I loved the interactive aspect of this course - from the workbook to the breakout rooms during the day. It was easily personalised & could be moulded to fit your particular business. Meaning that everybody involved will benefit & learn something from today's course.

A.C , Aria Networks Ltd

The trainer was great. Content was fantastic. Once again, very insightful as to what I am doing wrong, and giving me the tools to improve.

C.H , Big Button Media Ltd

The whole day was very well structured and interesting. It helped me see where I have been going wrong, how and why I need to work on this, so that I can improve my work-life balance. The best tip for me was, don't try to plan more than 4 hours of my working day.
