PRINCE2 or PRINCE2 Agile?
Although they will both enable practitioners to use the PRINCE2 project management process, there are a number of differences between our PRINCE2 and PRINCE2 Agile courses. So, which should you choose?
PRINCE2 (which stands for Projects In a Controlled Environment) is a methodology that was originally developed by the UK government, as a project management process for use in IT projects. With its focus on risk versus benefits and ability to weigh up the usefulness of a project, it proved such a useful method that it was quickly adapted for use in every sector.
PRINCE2 Agile was launched in 2015. Agile is a project management approach that has a different focus from PRINCE2. Instead of weighing up the benefits of a project, its focus is on the execution, including how best to divide up tasks to get the work done and what needs working on at any given stage. Thanks to its incremental approach it is ideal not only for software development projects, but any type of project, particularly where requirements are not clearly understood. PRINCE2 Agile focuses on empowering the delivery team, whereas PRINCE2 places greater focus on project and direction and project management.
In summary:
- PRINCE2 is universal, and can be applied to almost any organisation or industry.
- PRINCE2 Agile can also be applied to any type of organisation; however, it is more adaptive and is about responding to change. As a result, it is usually the better choice of course if the delegate is in an IT role or is being charged with delivering a project in the IT arena. However, PRINCE2 Agile is not restricted to the IT field; it can be applied to any project where requirements are not clearly understood, as you break the project into bite-sized pieces to ease delivery.

What do the PRINCE2 courses cover?
Our PRINCE2 courses will equip you with practical skills to contribute to PRINCE2 projects as part of a team.
- Learn the basics with our PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Agile Foundation courses, or gain the knowledge and accreditation you need to apply PRINCE2 methods to projects of any scale, with PRINCE2 Practitioner and PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certifications.
- Many of our delegates choose to combine Foundation and Practitioner courses into one, so that you complete the two courses one after the other.
- All our PRINCE2 courses are delivered in small, live and interactive groups online. Qualifications can be completed at a time to suit you, although we strongly recommend doing the examination as soon as possible after the course.

Awards & Certificates
Our PRINCE2 courses can be taken at both Foundation and Practitioner level.
On successful completion of the Foundation courses, delegates will receive a PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Agile Foundation qualification.
On completing the Practitioner courses, delegates will receive a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner or Registered PRINCE2 Agile qualification.
