From time to time Impellus is able to provide employers with funding for leadership and management development.
We're currently delivering against the regional development initiatives shown below as well as a matched funding initiative for all employers who want to develop key people using their own choices of learning.
We're also handling enquiries about upcoming changes to the apprenticeship programme. We'll be posting further information on this when we have it.

£2,000 Grants for management development
A South of England funding initiative for small and growing employers to help develop their managers into high performing team leaders.
The initiative provides a significant contribution towards a choice of two programmes of learning, both designed take existing managers and increase the skills of team leadership and commercial acumen.
Qualifying managers must be at organisations with no more than 50 employees and be in one of the following regions (see page for a full county list):
- South East of England
- South West of England
Open to employers from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Final date for application is Thursday, 21 August 2025 unless the total fund is allocated in advance.
Regional Development Initiative
Up to £40,000 funding per employer for management and leadership development.
A funded initiative to develop managers and leaders across six regions of the UK – from line managers running teams right the way through to the executives who build and lead the organisations that create opportunity in challenging times.Â
Available only to organisations with 15 - 1,000 employees based in the regions below. Employers from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors are eligible.

- North East England
- North West England
- Yorkshire
The deadline for applications is 5.00pm Thursday, 18 September 2025 unless the total fund is allocated in advance.
East of England Development Initiative
Up to £40,000 funding per employer for management and leadership development.
A funded initiative to develop the region's managers and leaders – from line managers running teams right the way through to the executives who build and lead the organisations that create opportunity in challenging times.Â
Available only to organisations with 15 - 1,000 employees based in the East of England region. Employers from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors are eligible.
The deadline for applications is 5.00pm Thursday, 25 September 2025 unless the total fund is allocated in advance.
Matched Funding Initiative
Matched funding (50%) for UK employers who are looking to deliver the management and leadership training that best suits their specific requirements.
Funding terms and amounts vary by size of organisation (by employee numbers) and by region too. See pages linked below.
