1. Organisational Challenge

Albis is a leading German plastics manufacturer with a UK base in Knutsford and a workforce of 120 based both locally and across the UK. The company had delivered some ILM-approved management programmes previously using another training supplier which they had found to be a prescriptive and overly theoretical. Engagement from managers was not as high as expected.

Albis were looking to deliver accredited training and development to all levels of management which would both meet the organisational requirements as well as be engaging for managers.

2. Choosing Impellus

“One of the reasons we chose Impellus as a supplier was that we wanted a business-focused solution that got our managers out of the office and engaging with managers from other organisations. This was something that we really believed would really meet both parts of our brief,” said Pauline Branigan, HR Manager at Albis.

“The great thing with Impellus was the flexibility of courses that make up the ILM Awards and their locations. This also meant that we could effectively ‘dip a toe in the water’ and book a small number of courses before committing to a whole management training project with them.”

3. Working with Impellus

“Impellus are very efficient from the booking process, through the training, to the support that they offer to managers going through their ILM Awards. They’re friendly, knowledgeable and very professional.”

4. Results Achieved

“We now have most of our senior management team qualified at Level 5 which is excellent and feedback that I’ve been able to provide to the board – even from managers with degrees in business management – is that the courses are engaging, useful and highly relevant to the business.”
